AUTISM HEALTH & FITNESS CENTER

Raising the Bar of Possibilities

Our Mission:

To provide a safe, comfortable and structured environment for empowering individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs to improve their level of physical fitness. We are a place where individuals and their families find comfort, connection and community.

Huge shout-out to our camp volunteers!

Our amazing volunteers are what makes our programs possible. Volunteer with us to satisfy school or church community service hours, gain valuable experience, have fun, and - most of all - make a difference in the lives of people with special needs!

PERSONAL TRAINING

Work one on one with a Certified Personal Trainer who has a background in adaptive fitness and working with people with special needs. Everyone has a different goal so every session looks different. No prior experience is necessary. We are an inclusive fitness center so we find ways to adapt movement and exercises to help people become stronger and more confident.

GROUP CLASSES

Group Classes are back! Small group fitness classes offer members the opportunity to meet new friends, learn or improve fitness skills, and have some fun. Click here to learn more.

ADAPTED PE PROGRAM

We provide structured, organized and personalized classes within schools. Our adaptive physical education program is designed to meet the needs of students who otherwise have difficulty engaging in physical activity in a traditional PE setting

REMEMBERING MATT ABATI

Autism Health & Fitness Center had the pleasure of having Matt Abati be a part of their team of Trainers. His work was incredibly important to him and he easily developed close bonds with all he worked with. Even while facing adversity, he brought care and attention to his work. Matt had been fighting a serious illness, which took his life on Sunday, September 22nd. We are heartbroken to loose such a bright and wonderful friend and co-worker. In honor of Matt's passion and hard work, his parents, Heather and Steve Abati, have created Love Yours: A Matt Abati Foundation, which will provide financial assistance to kids with autism to attend camp. To donate, make checks payable to Love Yours: A Matt Abati Foundation and mail to: Love Yours, 21 Briarwood Lane, Wallingford, CT 06492 Click here to view the Love Yours website for information on upcoming events. Thank you for sharing the gift of fitness with the special needs community. It's an impactful way to remember our friend Matt.

All Autism Health & Fitness Center members celebrate their year anniversary with a painted handprint and name on the front of the fitness facility.
